School Dinners

Is your child eligible for Free School Meals?

Free school meals are available to pupils based on the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you're not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

If you think you may be eligible, please complete this short application.

If you do not qualify for most benefits (also known as having ‘no recourse to public funds’), your child may still be eligible for free school meals. Please complete the form below and bring it to the school office for processing. Please note you will be asked to provide your most up to date P60 and the last 6 months of payslips for each parent that is in work.

All payments should be made using School Gateway app.  If you have not registered, please contact the school office for instructions.

As our system is very flexible, you may decide to take your child off school dinners at any time in the session.  This is possible by giving two weeks notice in writing to the office.  Similarly, by giving two weeks written notice, your child may recommence at any time. If two weeks notice is not received, a two week charge will apply.

In accordance with Trafford Council Best Practise, should dinner money not be paid by the end of the second week- meals may be stopped and parents will be asked to send in a packed lunch. If there are any extenuating circumstances for non-payment please contact the school office as soon as possible.

Please fill in the form below to advise us if you need to make a change to your child's school dinner requirement.
