It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside school hours. We ask all parents who send their children to our school to support the school Uniform Policy. New school uniform may be purchased at Petit Modes, Sale or pre-loved uniform can be purchased through our PTA by emailing stjosephsptasale@gmail.com or through the PTA website www.stjosephs-pta.co.uk

 

Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:

•    Promotes a sense of pride in the school.

•    Engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school.

•    Is practical and smart.

•    Identifies the children with the school.

•    Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.

•    Is regarded as suitable wear for school.

•    Is designed with health and safety in mind.

 

Nursery Uniform

•        Grey trousers/shorts/skirt/pinafore dress

•        Yellow polo top (embroidered with the Nursery logo.)

•        Royal blue jumper/cardigan (embroidered with the Nursery logo.)

•        Plain grey/black socks

•        Plain grey/black socks/tights

Shoes that would be considered unsuitable include:

  • shoes with logos
  • shoes with flashing lights
  • sling backs or heels
  • ankle or knee boots
  • wheelies

Coats

Please ensure your child has a coat in school. Coats with a hood are preferable as we do sometimes go outside in the rain.

KS2 Rucksack – the official school bag for KS2

Games/PE Kit

(children can come into school in their PE kit so do not need a bag unless they plan to also do sporting after-school activities)

•    White t-shirt.

•    Black tracksuit bottoms

•    Black tracksuit top

•    Pair of black plimsolls (indoor)

•    Pair of flat soled trainers (outdoor)

•    Pair of socks (if tights are worn.)

•    KS2 children who attend swimming training require swimming trunks or a costume and a towel.

 

As a school we take the health and safety of our pupils very seriously. For this reason we do not allow jewellery, except for plain gold or silver, non- jewelled stud earrings which must be removed during PE and games. Children are to have only one earring in each ear. A small watch may be worn. FitBits and other similar alternatives are not permitted.

Long hair should be tied up and fixed with slides as necessary. Simple, non-elaborate headbands and hair accessories may be worn. Children should not have their hair cut in any extreme styles, e.g. too short, (less than a number 3) or in the style of some celebrities with hair long at the top and shaved at the bottom or dyed.

Nail varnish,  temporary tattoos and make up should not be worn.

Please label all items of clothes including coats and shoes.
